Our SKYSHADE 9000FC is one of the strongest full cassette awnings. Manufactured in one section up to 7m wide and above this size supplied in 2 sections for joining on site.
Oval shape cassette with face fit wall brackets as standard but ceiling fixing also available. The benefit of a multi bracket fixing system cannot be underestimated when one of the biggest problems with larger folding arm awnings is fixing them to modern properties. The variable and multiple fixing points allow you to ensure you get proper fixings when there are limitations on site.

This awning can be manufactured up to a massive 12 metres wide with a seamless jointing profile. It is perfect for commercial applications as well as larger domestic outdoor areas.

Available with manual winding handle operation or Somfy electric motor drive, you can be assured of effortless operation. With the Somfy IO motor drive as standard you can easily progress to Smart controls with the Somfy Tahoma Switch system. Control your awning from your smartphone or tablet and also easily control the extent of the projection with 2 way communication.

The 9000 FC is a larger and stronger folding arm awning than most standard models, for use in either commercial or domestic applications. Offered in sizes up to 9000mm wide in our online shop (but also available up to 12m wide - POA) and a projection of 3600mm, this awning can cover large spaces indeed. The projections are offered in 5 size options.
It is a full cassette awning with an oval shape design and the cassette and all other components are offered factory finished in a choice of 3 standard colours - Black (RAL9005), White (RAL9010) and Anthracite (RAL7016). Special powderocat colour options are available on request and generally the price is around £70 per linear metre of awning.

The standard wall fixing brackets are positioned behind the folding arm joints, but this is also a multi bracketed system, so additional brackets for support can be used along the awning cassette to work with site conditions.
To review the number of arms in the awning please refer to the installation manual page 6.
The arms will vary between 2 arms and up to 4 on a 9m width. Bracket positions are shown on pages 7 and 8.

The awning is supplied in one length up to 7000mm wide and then above this size the awning is a coupled system with a seamless profile join for site build.

Operation and Safety
The 9000FC is available as a manual or electric operated awning at any size, but we always recommend you use an electric operated awning when above about 4m wide. The larger the awning, the more it is going to catch the wind. An electric awning can have automatic sensors to retract the awning in stronger winds if you are not present when this happens. You can either use a wind speed system (anenometer) or a motion sensor, which sits in the front profile of the awning to detect movement. Both options are adjustable to set the wind speed or amount of motion required to send a signal out.

Fabrics
The 9000FC like all our Skyshade awning range is fitted with a Dickson fabric cover. Dickson are one of the oldest manufacturers of outdoor fabrics and have a long pedigree of excellent performance.
We offer a limited choice in our drop down selection in the shop but you can review the full Dickson Solar Protection fabric range in a PDF and then enter the fabric code when buying.
Small surcharges apply to the Jacquard, Solar Protection Max Self Cleaning and the Spark FR ranges. These are between 10 and 15% surcharge and confirmed separately to you if required.

Motor and Controls
All our Skyshade awnings are fitted as standard with the Somfy IO electric motors to offer a future proof system with the ability to connect to smart home controls if required.
The Somfy IO motor is controlled by several standard remote wall switches or hand held radio control handsets available in our shop. Ask for details on the Somfy home automation products available and upgrade to enable the use of your smartphone or tablet for control of your awning and other Somfy products around your home. Also links with other products such as Alexa..

The sensors to provide signals with the sun or wind are also offered in our shop.
Standard motor cable is a 3m black cable exiting from the same side as the motor which we always refer to as standing outside looking at the awning on your wall. You can choose a longer cable or a white cable option.

LED Lights in Arms
A great option for these awnings are LED lights built into the underside of the folding arms, offering excellent downlighting above your protected are for the night time and darker months of the year when using the awning. Choose the LED lights according to the projection ordered and the receiver and transformer for the lights is included in the price. You will use one of the channels from a 5 channel transmitter to switch the lights on and off and also dim as required.

A folding arm awning is relatively easy to install up to around 4-5m wide. Abiove this width the weight and handling of the awning will make installation trickier and you will defintiely need extra pairs of hands or lifting equipment. Fitting the wall brackets is the most important thing to get right and with the enormous variation in wall construction and general building techniques in the UK getting the right fixings is also sometimes challenging. Take expert advice on the correct fixings for your particular wall construction if unsure.
We can provide the weight of the awning and the pull out forces for the various sizes and brackets used. It is always recommended to use chemical fixings for awnings for the best fixing and strength. The fixings for the brackets are NOT provided.

Installation instructions are available as a download in our downloads section for each awning.

Setting the pitch for the canopy is also important and wherever possible we recommend you have a 15-20 degree pitch for any rainwater run off to be efficient and not cause any problems if left out in the rain. If you cannot achieve a minimum pitch of 15 degrees then you should not ever leave your awning extended and unattended and it should not be used in anything other than light rainfall.

Fabric
The fabrics in the standard range are woven from solution dyed acrylic. However, it could happen that you note some minor imperfections after the installation of your awning. A slight embossing, some veining, small folds along the stitching, in the centre of the fabrics or possibly some overlapping could appear.
These irregularities are inherent in acrylic fabrics and have no effect on the performance of your cover.

Your installer can in no way be held responsible for these slight imperfections.

Examples of these natural occurrences are repeated in the Dickson collection book

Veining

• Subsequent to handling during sewing, fabrication and assembly, acrylic fabrics treated with resins containing fluoride may present “veining” visible against sunlight and due to an optical effect (differences in the refraction of light)

• Folds/Wrinkles

When rolling the cover, folds may be produced in the centre or along the stitching.

• Waves

Different wrapping thickness occur on the fabric rolls where the hems and seams of the panels are because there are two layers of fabric in these places. The tension in the material created this way, may produce waves (for example a wave or herringbone pattern).
